There’s a new tenant in the CYBER Center at 2101 Pennsylvania Avenue that’s filling the hallways with the delicious aroma of hickory smoke andseasonings used to make Big John’s Beef Jerky, a product of SME Foods, LLC. Owner Bill Lenzer is turning the family’s secret recipe it into a profitable (and delicious!) business venture. Right now, SME is planning an expansion to significantly increase the amount of product that goes out the door and into the retail market. SME sells wholesale to distributors and retail outlets. The distributors are working hard to get the Big John’s label recognized and encourage people to try the product. The vacuum-sealed packages are now available in select retail stores with plans for expanding to more markets.
