Big John's Beef Jerky Corporate History
In the summer of 2000, Big John's little girl Renee &
her husband Bill Lenzer, founded SME Foods to take Big John's
time-tested recipe & make the best beef jerky anywhere
available everywhere. Big John remains directly involved in
the development & production of Big John's Beef Jerky
by tasting & evaluating the process to ensure the jerky
is as good as it has always been.
Since getting their USDA approval in July 2001, SME Foods
has been growing steadily to keep up with the demand for Big
John's Beef Jerky, while offering several different sizes
of packages & adding additional flavors.
Big John's Beef Jerky is now available for sale in retail
outlets nationwide.
